LSF receives European Investment Bank support: three-years grant

A proposal on "Benchmarking European Small and Medium-sized Entreprise (SME) Credit Performance" by Theoharry Grammatikos, Professor of Corporate Finance, and Magdalena Pisa, PhD Student in Finance, was awarded a European Investment Bank University Research Sponsorship (EIBURS) three-year grant. Sara Ferreira Filipe, Post-Doctorate Researcher in Finance, has also joined the project.
EIBURS grants are provided through a competitive process to interested University Departments in the EU, accession or acceding countries, to support research in fields of interest to the EIB. The grants aim at expanding activities of research centers in these fields.

The LSF is pleased to welcome Professor Jos Van Bommel

Jos van Bommel is Associate professor of the Luxembourg School of Finance.
He holds an engineering degree from the University of Technology Eindhoven, an MBA from IESE, and did his PhD at INSEAD. Before coming to the Luxembourg School of Finance, he was employed by Babson College and Oxford University. He was visiting professor at IESE and Esade Business School, among others.
Professor van Bommel conducts empirical and theoretical research in corporate finance and market microstructure. He is particularly interested in initial public offerings and the interaction between financial markets and investment business decisions. He is also interested in market microstructure and retail structured products. His research was published in The Journal of Finance, The Journal of Corporate Finance, The Journal of Banking and Finance, and Financial Research Letters, among others.
       

The LSF is pleased to welcome Professor Augusto Ruperez Micola

Augusto Rupérez Micola is Associate Professor of Finance at the
Luxembourg School of Finance. He holds degrees from Universitat de
Barcelona (BSc in Economics and Business) and the Norwegian School of
Management – BI (MSc in Energy Economics), and received his MPhil and
PhD degrees from the London Business School (Decision Sciences).
Professor Rupérez Micola was previously employed at Universitat Pompeu
Fabra and IMD Business School.
His research mainly uses applied econometrics and simulations to study
financial and energy markets. He has published in leading academic
journals, such as Management Science and the Journal of Economic
Behaviour and Organization. He has taught extensively in various
undergraduate, MSc, MBA, PhD and executive programs. Professor Rupérez
Micola has also been consultant to several corporations.
         
         
   
         

Master of Science in Banking and Finance offers scholarship funded by PRiM

The Luxembourg School of Finance (LSF) is pleased to announce the establishment of an annual scholarship award of €3 000 to support LSF students with a professional interest in the field of risk management. The scholarship of €3 000 will be funded by PRiM, the Luxembourg-based association of professional risk managers, and will be awarded once per year. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in the LSF Masters of Science programme in Banking and Finance, must work in Luxembourg and live in the Grande Région.
